Visit Chissano Gallery, a fundamental introduction to art in Mozambique. The spirit of Mozambique’s armed struggle is ever-present in the totem-pole-like carvings skinny, desperate humans crushed under the clumsy, uncaring feet of fat figures perched victoriously on top.
This gem of the 50s is a fine example of Pancho Guedes’ unique architectural style. The Sagrada Familia Church is shaped like a ship’s hull, replacing the dragons with crosses and then repeating the motif of the Latin cross throughout, this is a perfect example of the Portuguese Art Deco architecture
It was constructed from 1908 to 1916 in the Beaux-Arts style. Widely recognized for its attractiveness, the station has been ranked by international publications as one of the world's most beautiful. In addition to serving as an active train terminus, the station contains a rail museum, food venues, and holds music events.
This is an Artists cooperative in the heart of Maputo city. Frequent exhibitions featuring the work of up-and-coming artists (some of which are for sale). Other works that you can appreciate include pottery by Mozambique’s Reinate Samdimba and paintings by Valente Malangatana. There is also a garden where you can talk with the artists and watch them at work.

It is dedicated to Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception. The foundation stone for the construction of the church was laid on June 28, 1936, and is located inside the narthex and inscribed by the Bishop of Mozambique and Cape Verde, D. Rafael Maria da Asunção. Construction on the cathedral was completed in 1944.
This Franciscan church, an emblematic building of modernist architecture, was designed by the portuguese architect Nuno Cavreiro Lopes. The Church of Saint Anthony of Polana was built in 1962 and restored in 1992. The building has the shape of an inverted flower and is popularly known as the “lemon squeezer”. In the dome of the building, of concrete and with conical shape, windows with colorful crystals also allow the entrance of light.
