Colonia was founded in 1680 by Portuguese people. This small town with a beautiful colonial architecture awakens admiration among visitors who walk along the cobblestoned streets and admire residences and colorful houses. For these reasons, Colonia was declared World Heritage by UNESCO.
Montevideo is the capital and most important and influential city in Uruguay, seat of MERCOSUR. It hosts one of the most important ports in the region. This metropolis has an old district with a strong Spanish influence, with the main focus on Plaza de la Independencia (Independence square) and new areas, such as Carrasco, Punta Carretas, Pocitos and Malvin.

Begin your journey with an early morning pickup around 7:00 AM from your hotel or Airbnb in Buenos Aires. Your driver will take you to the ferry terminal for a smooth crossing of the Río de la Plata. Please have your passport ready for customs formalities. Enjoy a comfortable one-hour ferry ride as you travel from Argentina to Uruguay.

2Colonia del Sacramento
Upon arrival in Colonia, your guide will be waiting for you at the ferry terminal to begin a walking tour of this historic city. Explore the picturesque Old Town, founded in 1680 by the Portuguese, and visit landmarks such as Calle de los Suspiros, the ruins of the San Francisco Monastery, the lighthouse, the Governor’s House, and the Basilica of the Blessed Sacrament. Afterward, enjoy some free time for lunch at your leisure (not included).

In the afternoon, continue your journey to Montevideo, a scenic two-hour drive to Uruguay’s vibrant capital. Overnight in Montevideo

Start your morning with a delicious breakfast at your hotel, followed by some free time to explore Montevideo at your own pace and enjoy lunch (not included). Around 1:30 PM, your guide will meet you at the hotel to begin a three-hour tour of the city’s highlights. Experience the unique blend of Latin American and European influences as you stroll through the charming Old District and Independence Square. Admire the stunning colonial architecture, marvel at the intricate design of Uruguay’s tallest building, drive along the scenic promenade with views of the city’s sandy beaches, and visit an Agricultural Market to learn about traditional Uruguayan products. In the afternoon, your guide will escort you to the ferry terminal for your return trip to Buenos Aires.
