Montevideo is the capital and most important and influential city in Uruguay, seat of MERCOSUR. It hosts one of the most important ports in the region. This metropolis has an old district with a strong Spanish influence, with the main focus on Plaza de la Independencia (Independence square) and new areas, such as Carrasco, Punta Carretas, Pocitos and Malvin. Meeting and pickup
Pick up at centrally located Buenos Aires hotels and apartments. We also make pickups and dropoffs at Airbnb, but you need to provide us exact address. Pickup time may be subject to change based on the Buquebus ferry schedule for the day. (In some cases there may not be direct ferries to Montevideo and in that situation, the pickup changes to a later pickup time and a shorter ferry ride from Colonia with a bus ride included from Colonia to Montevideo)

Begin your journey early in the morning, around 6:00 AM, with a private transfer from your hotel or Airbnb in Buenos Aires to the ferry terminal. After completing customs procedures (passport required), board the ferry for a comfortable two-hour crossing of the Río de la Plata. Enjoy panoramic views of Montevideo and the Uruguayan coastline as you approach the capital.

Upon arrival, your local guide will take you on a four-hour tour of Montevideo’s highlights. Experience the city’s unique blend of Latin American and European influences as you admire the colonial architecture of the Old District and Independence Square, marvel at Uruguay’s tallest building, drive along the scenic promenade overlooking sandy beaches, and visit an agricultural market to learn about traditional Uruguayan products.
