Day 1
Day1: Lake Manyara National Park & Rift Valley

This safari starts with a breakfast-to-go in the café next to our main office. We pick you up in time at your hotel in and around Arusha. Departure for Lake Manyara National Park is around 8.00 am. We will be on the road in a 4x4 Toyota Landcruiser for about 1.5. Already this drive will enchant you.

Then your safari adventure with Jackpot Safaris begins. We will spend the whole day on game drives. Lake Manyara is nestled in a breathtaking landscape surrounded by a narrow green belt of forest. Overlooked by the majestic escarpment of the Rift Valley, it is only understandable that this graceful place was the most beautiful thing Ernest Hemingway had ever seen in Africa. We have lunch boxes and chilled drinks on board. After a picnic lunch, the game viewing continues. Watch out for buffalo, giraffe, impala, baboon and the blue monkeys. Another spectacle in Lake Manyara National Park are the tree-climbing lions, but it is a gamble to see them. You are more likely to see elephants, buffalo, primates and amazing birdlife.

In the early evening, before the sun sets, we check into a beautiful 4-star-lodge that will be your safari camp for the next two nights. Here a lovingly prepared dinner awaits you and your first night in the bush as you listen to the sounds of the African night.

Day 2
Day2: Ngorongoro Crater & Conservation Area

We start early in the morning again, because today another big highlight is waiting for you. The Ngorongoro Crater - a World Heritage Site - where we are allowed to do a maximum of six hours game drives to protect the animals!

Ngorongoro Crater
Down in the world's largest perfect caldera (collapsed volcano) live about 30,000 large mammals, including the highest density of predators in Africa. The Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtakingly exciting place to see all the BIG FIVE: Lions, Leopards, Buffalo, Elephants and there are still between ten and 15 specimens of the endangered black rhinoceros, whose population in the 1960s was still over a hundred animals. In addition, zebra, hippo, wildebeest, hyena and other birds such as flamingos on Soda Lake, geese, storks, vultures and more live in this wonderful crater. The large animal migrations in the Serengeti also pass through the Ngorongoro Crater.

Ngorongoro Crater
In the late afternoon we gradually drive up the crater rim and make our way back to the lodge. But don't worry, today's adventure is far from over. We still cross the whole Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This conservation area was established in the late 1950s - in connection with an ecological study by the German zoologist Bernhard Grzimek (known for his documentary film "Serengeti Shall Not Die"). Since then, the Ngorongoro area has enabled the harmonious coexistence of nature conservation, tourism and pastoralism of the Maasai. In 1979, this unique landscape with its rich wildlife was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Before we reach our lodge, we enjoy a sundowner at a beautiful spot. Let us surprise you. Shortly after sunset we reach our lodge where, after a short freshen up, a delicious dinner is waiting for you again and the second episode of the audioplay "African nights" :)

Day 3
Day3: Tarangire National Park

Today we start early again for another breathtaking adventure. After a hearty breakfast, we check out of the lodge and stow our luggage in the back of the Land Cruiser.

Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park is known among insiders for one of the largest elephant populations in the world. It was David Rechsteiner, one of Bernhard Grzimek's closest collaborators, who persuaded Tanzanian President Nyerere to establish the park in the 1950s. The park owes its name to the Tarangire River, which meanders through the entire area from north to south. It is the main source of water in the region and attracts many animals, especially in the dry season from mid-July. The hilly landscape with the huge baobab trees against the blue sky is simply breathtaking. In the dry season, huge herds of up to 300 elephants can be seen here. But also considerable herds of buffalo, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, kudu or the rare oryx antelope come to drink at the river. If you are patient enough, you may even see leopards. They have the best living conditions here. Sometimes you can even see them in the trees.

Tarangire National Park (Pass by)
In the late afternoon we start our return journey to Arusha, where we should arrive shortly after sunset, around 6.00 p.m. At the end of such a safari, it is traditional to have a farewell beer together after arriving in Arusha, the safari capital of Africa. We are very happy to invite our guests, most of whom have become friends, to join us. Afterwards we will take you back to your hotel.
