We pick you up in the lobby of your hotel in Buenos Aires and drop you back there at the end of the day.
The most colorful neighborhood in Buenos Aires. Walk along Caminito among the painted tin and wood houses of the 19th-century Italian immigrants, many of them from Genoa. Your guide tells you the story of the tango that gave the street its name, among street dancers, musicians and local artists, a few blocks from La Bombonera stadium.
A covered market opened in 1897, still under its iron and glass roof. Butchers, greengrocers, antique dealers and street food stalls share the same aisles. A good place to find a vintage piece, have a coffee or try empanadas.
Argentina's most important square, laid out when Buenos Aires was founded in 1580 and the stage of the country's great political moments. Your guide shows you the Casa Rosada and the balcony linked to Evita, the colonial Cabildo and the Metropolitan Cathedral, which holds the mausoleum of General San Martín and was the seat of Jorge Bergoglio, later Pope Francis, as Archbishop of Buenos Aires. You will also see the white headscarves painted on the ground, the symbol of the Mothers of Plaza de Mayo.
The old 19th-century port, now the newest district of the city: red-brick warehouses turned into offices and restaurants, next to modern towers. Your guide takes you to the Puente de la Mujer, the footbridge by Santiago Calatrava inspired by a couple dancing tango.
The most elegant district of the city, with French-style palaces, parks and cafés. After seeing the monumental entrance of the Recoleta Cemetery, we stop for about an hour for lunch at a restaurant your guide recommends, from a parrilla to empanadas (lunch at your own expense). Then we continue through the district.
The great green space of Buenos Aires, with lakes and wide lawns. The highlight is the Rosedal, the rose garden with thousands of rose bushes, the Andalusian Patio, the Greek-style bridge over the lake and the Poets' Garden with its busts of writers.
The city's design district: low houses and tree-lined streets turned into independent shops, Argentine fashion, galleries, specialty coffee and street art. Around Plaza Serrano your guide shows you its best corners.
