Haugheia Panorama Hike in Lofoten Leknes

Join us on a family-friendly hike up Haugheia, a local favorite in the center of Lofoten. Starting at Leknes harbor, we take a gentle 2km walk through the neighborhood to the foot of the hill. After a short steep section on a gravel road, the trail follows the ridge for the remaining 2km to the summit at 151 meters.

What makes this hike special is the view at every step — jagged mountains, colorful houses, and crystal-clear seas. Aside from the initial climb, the path is mostly flat heathland, well-established and accessible even on wet days. On clear days, you might see the snowy mountain peaks on the Norwegian mainland, and in summer, wildflowers grow remarkably large under the midnight sun.

This leisurely 9km out-and-back hike gives you plenty of time to rest at the top and enjoy 360 degrees of gorgeousness.

Duration: 3 hours

Important: Minimum age is 10 years old (parents/guardians are responsible for their children). Dress for changeable weather; suitable footwear required. Spikes recommended if slippery (snowy conditions – sub freezing temperatures). Bring water.
