Your guides and porters team will be waiting for you at the gate as you approach the gate while taking in the magnificent mountain views. In the forest, you could observe vividly colorful birds, colobus monkeys, and other monkey species, as well as mosses, lichens, flowers, and beautiful orchids. The town of Moshi, which is located at the edge of the plain farther down, can be seen if the skies are clear. After registration is complete, you will begin climbing out of the park buildings. The 4-5-hour trek will take you through coffee plantations and thick rainforest to Mandara Hut for Dinner and overnight. DAY 2 – MANDARA HUT – HOROMBO HUT 3,720Mts On the second day of the Kilimanjaro climb, the Marangu route, a difficult ascent through the final section of rainforest begins just after breakfast. However, this soon gives way to a rolling alpine meadow dotted with enormous heather. Kilimanjaro's two summits - snow-capped Kibo and rocky Mawenzi - sit straight ahead, viewing the skyline, after you emerge from the forest's sunshade. On this day, you will gain about 1,000 meters of elevation as you continue across an area of open moorland with sparse vegetation. Depending on your pace, the trek could take five to seven hours, although POLE POLE is always advised. Horombo Huts is where you can eat tonight and stay overnight. Distance covered: 12.5km / 7.8mi Approx. time taken: 9 hours Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Included
DAY 3 – HOROMBO HUT A day here provides an opportunity for you to acclimatize step by step to the altitude. The information shows that an acclimatization day effectively doubles the chance of succession to reach the summit, thus the time is well spent! The day is not precisely wasted as there are several walks you can take just in the locality of the hut. We will take the most famous walk which most people take for acclimatization which leads you to the base of Mawenzi Peak the dramatic eastern summit of Kilimanjaro. The walk takes 4-5 hours a round trip and will go to an altitude of 4,600Mts then you will return to Horombo Hut for Dinner and Overnight, this walk will put you in good shape for later ascends. Distance covered: 5km / 3.1mi Approx. time taken: 4 hours Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Included
DAY 4 –HOROMBO HUT- KIBO HUT As you head toward Kibo, everlasting flowers, and other unusual alpine flora, the landscape becomes more stony and arid. It will take 5 to 7 hours to walk the Kibo trek. Skirting Mawenzi Peak as you pass the Last Water point across a desolate, almost lunar environment, you will arrive at the Saddle, a broad tundra desert between Mawenzi and Kibo. Before reaching Kibo Hut (4,705m), a dry-stone-walled hut with dorms and limited amenities, you will start enjoying breathtaking views of the mountain's upper slopes. You will get ready for the summit this evening. You should repack and give any unnecessary stuff to the porters since you must muster all of your energy to reach the peak. An early night is essential since you must leave for the summit at midnight to avoid the morning cloud cover and yet have time to return to Kibo hut. Distance covered: 9.5km / 5.9mi Approx. time taken: 7 hours Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
DAY 5– UHURU PEAK This day has been long and difficult. The guides awaken you shortly after midnight, and with the help of your torch, you begin up a lengthy slope of scree. The scree is still frozen at this time, making walking on it simpler. You should arrive in Hans Meyer's Cave after two hours. After three hours of climbing, you will reach Johanne's Notch, where the crater rim is located. The ascent becomes steeper. To reach Gillman's Point(5,685m) in time for dawn, it is only a short struggle from here. All the pain seems worthwhile when you view the dramatic scene of the sun rising over the ice fields and jagged peaks of Mawenzi! Those with sufficient strength and motivation can continue along the route for another couple of hours to Uhuru Peak along the crater rim (5,896m).Your 3 hour descent follows the same path back via Kibo Hut to Horombo Hut for a well-earned break. Distance covered:22km time taken:12–15 hours Meals: Breakfast, Lunch &Dinner
