Thamel is in Kathmandu. It is a haven for tourists visiting the city. It contains numerous hotels, restaurants, and shops that cater specifically to western tourists. It is located in the northern region of Kathmandu past the government district on Tridevi Marj. Although some consider it to be overcrowded it has been used by westerners since the 1970's when hippies in the region discovered it. Although now it has become quite commercial. Thamel is an easy walk from anywhere in central Kathmandu. Though the roads can be quite busy during the day, and traffic can be quite heavy.
The Swayambhunath temple is one of the holiest Buddhist Chaityas in Nepal, residing in the western part of Kathmandu valley. Swayambhunath also known as ‘Monkey Temple’. This is the best place to see the entire city, as it is located in the top of the hill. Buddhists and Hindus both perform and worship here. There are a lot of small temples and monasteries to see around Swayambhunath temple. The wonderful views from the Swayambhunath temple are wonderful and it has huge significance as well. The total time spent at this temple will be around two hours and covers almost every part of Swayambhunath temple.
The Stupa is belongs to Buddhists. It has great architectural values, ancient Buddhism philosophy and the Historical aspects. This Stupa is made up in a Mandala shaped area and has a giant dome. It is the center hub of Buddhism in Nepal and is surrounded by hundreds of monasteries. Lichchavi rulers renovated the staple during 8th century, which has made on the shape of a Mandala. This is one of the most popular holy sites for Buddhist followers inside the Kathmandu valley. It is one of the important artifacts of Kathmandu valley. The total time spent at this temple will be around one and a half hours.
Pashupatinath temple is a highly revered temple of Kathmandu valley. There are a lot of places to see around Pashupatinath temple. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, this temple offers wonderful spiritual experiences and surroundings. It is situated 3 km northwest of Kathmandu on the banks of the Bagmati River, including many holy areas Deupatan, Jaya Bageshwori, Gaurighat (Holy Bath), Kutumbahal, Gaushala, Pingalasthan and Sleshmantak forest. There are around 492 temples, 15 Shivalayas (shrines of Lord Shiva) and 12 Jyotirlinga (phallic shrines) to explore. It is also a cremation site on the raised platform along the Bagmati River, where the last rites of Hindus are performed. The total time for Sightseeing around the Pashupatinath temple will be about two hours.
After breakfast, our office representative along with your trekking guide and potter will pick you from the hotel. After a short about 1 and a half hour of drive you will reach Sundarijal and start your trek. You will pass through Mulkharka and multiple tea houses before reaching mountain pass at an altitude of 2,466 meters above from sea level. After mountain pass you will decent downwards to reach Chisapani.
After breakfast, our office representative along with your trekking guide and potter will pick you from the hotel. After breakfast, you will start your trek towards Gul Bhanjyang. After few hours of walk you will reach Pati Bhanjyang situated at an altitude of 1768 meters above from sea level. During you walk you can observe the amazing views of mountains. After that you will pass through Thakuni Bhanjyang, Chibling ang Jhogin Danda Ridge. You will pass through rhododendron forest before reaching Gul Bhanjyang.
After breakfast, you will start your trek. During the first few hours of the trek you will start ascending to the top of the hill from where you can have an amazing views of mountain ranges of Helambu valley. Passing through the streams and steep hills you will reach Yurin Danda. Continue walking through rhododendron forest you will reach Tharepati. Upon reaching Tharepati you can witness the beautiful Gosainkunda lake and marvellous mountain ranges.
After breakfast, you will continue you trek. From Melamchi the trail descends downwards and you will pass through rhododendron and pine forest. You can also have the amazing view of Helambu valley as well as Numbur and Jugal Himal. After few hours of walk you will reach the Melamchi Gaon.
After breakfast, you will start your trek. At the first few hours of the trek you will start descending downwards until you reach a river. After that you will climb upward towards sherp village Nakote. After Nakote you will start descending and finally starts climbing before reaching Tarke Ghyang. You will witness one of the oldest monasteries of Helambu area before reaching Trake Ghyang. At Tarke Ghyang also you will see a monastery from which the place got its name.
After breakfast you will start climbing towards Aama Yangri. It will take about 4 to 5 hour to reach Aama Yangri from Tarke Ghyang. During your walk you will leave your bags at the hotel and start walking. From the top of Aama Yangri you can have an awesome view of the mountain ranges including Mount Everest along with Manaslu, Langtang and Annapurna ranges during clear weather. Hike down to Tarke Ghyang for the overnight stay
After breakfast, you will start your trek towards Shermathang. It will take about 5 hour to reach Shermathang from Tarke Ghyang. You will pass through a forest before reaching Shermathang. Upon reaching at Shermathang you can visit one of the oldest monasteries around the area and interact with the locals or just visit the awesome sherpa village.
