What to expect
【Limited Time Only】Magical Firefly Viewing Tour – Yaeyama-himebotaru, Nature’s Own Illumination
As twilight sets in, the Yaeyama-himebotaru (a rare species of tiny firefly) begins to glow. By nightfall, countless fireflies dance through the forest, creating a breathtaking display of sparkling lights—a true natural illumination that can only be seen for a short time each year.
【Sample Tour Schedule】
① 18:00 – Pick-up from Ishigaki Port Remote Island Terminal or your accommodation
↓
② 18:30 – Arrive at the firefly viewing site. Light disturbs the fireflies—please turn off all smartphones and light sources.
↓
③ 18:45 – Wait quietly as the fireflies begin to glow.
↓
④ 19:00 – Peak glowing begins—an unforgettable natural light show.
↓
⑤ 19:30 – Viewing ends.
↓
⑥ 20:00 – Drop-off at Ishigaki Port or your accommodation

Punctuality & Contact:
Please arrive on time. If you do not arrive by the meeting time and do not contact us in advance, your booking will be treated as a cancellation, and a cancellation fee will apply. If you expect to be late, please be sure to contact us beforehand.
Pre-Tour Confirmation:
You will receive confirmation of the meeting time and location by the day before the tour. Please make sure to provide a phone number or email address that can be reached in Japan. If you do not receive a message from us by 6:00 PM the day before, please contact us using the contact information on your ticket.
Participation Requirements & Health Conditions:
Participants must be between 3 and 65 years old.
For safety reasons, the following individuals cannot join the tour:
Pregnant guests (from any stage)
Children aged 0–2
Those with any pre-existing medical conditions
Tour Operation & Weather:
The tour will go ahead in light rain. However, if conditions are deemed unsafe, the tour may be canceled for safety reasons.
Preparation & Clothing:
Please use the restroom before the tour, as there are no facilities near the site. Participation is not allowed under the influence of alcohol. Thank you for your understanding.
