Towards the interior of the island, stop at the protected area and natural reservation of the Mistérios Negros , for a circular walk of approximately 2h30-3h00, with a moderate/difficult level of difficulty, a length of approx. 5km. You can observe a beautiful landscape filled with volcanic rock and vegetation
Visit to a set of circular lava tunnels of basaltic rock resultant of a volcanic eruption
Walk through a circular path in the middle of a fumarolic field, where you can see the live expulsion of gases
Visit to the inside of an empty volcano, where you can how the process of an eruption formed this natural monument
A seaside coastal walk lasting approximately 2h30, of a medium difficulty level, which is not flat and goes up to an altitude of 100 meters, it is circular and has a length of 4.5km. You'll always have the view of the sea and the volcanic originated coast
Visit to the village of Agualva to the natural park (Parque das Frechas) where you can visit a beautiful waterfall and have a swim
In this spot, you'll be able to enjoy a panoramic view of one of the largest craters of the Azores islands, composed by a beautiful green pasture landscape, the famous "patchwork"
Towards the northern part of the island, walk on the Rocha do Chambre hiking trail where you can admire the Cryptoméria (Japanese Cedar) forests and also the beauty of an entire volcanic caldera next to geothermal wells. A circular walk lasting approximately 4 hours, with a length of 9 km and a moderate degree of difficulty and an elevation of approximately 235 meters in altitude. In the afternoon, after lunch, you will be able to visit the center of the village of Biscoitos, where you can see the beautiful vineyards planted on rock bottom soil and the natural swimming pools made of volcanic rock.
