Pick up from hotel or airport and drive to Tsavo west National Park at 6 a.m. you will drive through the Nairobi-Mombasa Road. The journey takes you through lovely sceneries in the eastern part of Kenya, sight-seeing wild animals on the way and the different cultural setting of the community around. After a 5-hr drive you will arrive at Voi town, where you will branch and head straight to the Tsavo west National Park main gate. You will do a game drive enroute to the Ngulia Safari Lodge, where you will check in in time for lunch, where variety of delicacies are served at the main dining area with a lot of ambience. After lunch, depart for a game viewing drive. Return back to the lodge for a sumptuous buffet dinner ending with good time for resting. Dinner and overnight at Ngulia Safari Lodge
Spend the whole day exploring the Tsavo West national park which is more popular due to its scenic beauty that is characterised by the wide range of vegetation. The park is adjoining the great wildlife ranches where the Black and White Rhinos are found. The park is covered by the open savannah grassland dotted with Acacia woodlands, Scrublands, Rocky ridges and the Riverine vegetation. Its remotely located at the coastal province. It’s a home of all African big game especially the African big five which include: Lions, Elephants, Buffalo, Rhinos and the shy Leopards. The other big game found at the park are: Giraffes, Zebras, hyenas, cheetahs, hippos, crocodiles, Gerenuk, Lesser Kudu, Waterbucks, wildebeests and others. The parks also hosts a good number of bird species especially the rare birds like Corncrake, Basra reed warbler, secretary bird and many others.
Mzima springs is an oasis of green in the Tsavo west National park that produces an incredible 250 million litres of fresh water a day, the springs whose source rises in the Chyulu hills, provides the bulk of Mombasa ‘s fresh water, walking trail leads along the shoreline, during the year of 2009 the drought took heavy toll on the springs’ hippo population, the population is stable at around 20 individuals, there are also crocodiles and awide variety of birds.
Wake up for an early breakfast and depart with a game viewing drive en route to Mzima Springs for a walking safari tour. Mzima Spring is the source of the Tsavo River and is home to fish, hippos, and crocodiles. Lunch will be served at a stopover restaurant outside the park on your way to Mombasa.
