Your guide meets you at Arba Minch Airport and transfers you to the scenic Guge Mountains. Visit the Dorze village, known for its elephant-shaped bamboo houses, weaving traditions, and panoramic views. After the visit, return to Arba Minch for overnight.
After breakfast, drive south toward Turmi, one of the cultural centers of the Omo Valley. On Thursday, you will explore the colorful Key Afer Market, one of the region’s largest tribal markets attended by Ari, Banna, and Tsemay communities. Afterward, visit the new Mursi village located near Key Afer, offering a unique opportunity to meet the Mursi people known for their lip plates and traditional body scarification. Continue driving to Turmi and end your day with an afternoon visit to a Hamer village, learning about their lifestyle, hairstyles, traditions, and seasonal ceremonies.
This morning, drive to the Omo River banks to meet the Karo tribe, known for their elaborate body painting and scenic clifftop villages overlooking the river. Enjoy incredible photography opportunities and cultural interaction. Return to Turmi for lunch, then drive toward Konso. On Saturday, you will stop at the lively Dimeka Market, one of the most authentic markets in the Lower Omo Valley. Continue to Konso, home to Ethiopia’s first registered UNESCO World Heritage Cultural Landscape.
Start the morning with a guided tour of a traditional Konso village, famous for its terraced hillsides, ancient stonework, and the iconic Waka wooden statues. After the visit, drive back to Arba Minch Airport for your domestic flight to Addis Ababa, marking the end of your unforgettable Omo Valley journey.
