Follow your experienced guide on a rewarding two-day trekking trip to the mountains of northern Thailand. Discover and learn about the wildlife and plants, meet local people working in their fields, hike on scenic forest and jungle trails. Explore a picturesque area of the Mae Taeng highlands. An ideal trip for participants who love hiking and nature.
We'll fetch you at your hotel within Chiang Mai city (or if you stay out of town, we'll meet you at the meeting point, the Lanna Palace Hotel, Changklan road).
DAY 1 - Departure from the city and drive to the trekking area (1h30 driving time). Trekking of 4 to 5 hours in the jungle, on forest trails. At the beginning of the trek, you'll hike an ascending track, gaining altitude as we enter the jungle. Make a stop for a pack lunch along the way. After 3 hours walk, you'll reach a first village for a break and cultural information. Continue for another hour and a half, mostly climbing, on a well marked trail leading to our overnight place. Spend the night in a rustic mountain home-stay. A delicious and rewarding Thai dinner is served (hot shower/western style toilet/bedding is provided).
DAY 2 - Trek and return to Chiang Mai Wake up to a breakfast over the mountain, including freshly brewed local coffee (or tea, if you prefer). Pack your bags and begin today's hike. Ascending trail with views of the valley below as we enter the forest. Then walk on a forest trail for a few more kilometres. After a few hours of hiking, mostly descending, we meet our driver and drive to a local restaurant. A last stop at the scenic Wat Ban Den, before returning to Chiang Mai (about 1 hour's drive). Drop off at your hotel in the city.
Optional stop for a glimpse to this amazing Temple in the valley.
