Enjoy an exciting cross-border safari to Chobe National Park, famous for its massive elephant herds and rich wildlife along the Chobe River. After an early transfer from Victoria Falls, begin with a morning game drive in an open safari vehicle searching for elephants, lions, buffalo, giraffes and other wildlife. Later, enjoy lunch at a riverside lodge before continuing your adventure with a relaxing afternoon boat safari on the Chobe River, offering incredible close-up views of elephants, hippos and crocodiles along the riverbanks. Return to Victoria Falls in the early evening
After breakfast depart for Hwange National Park (approx 2.5 hours). Afternoon safari game drive in Zimbabwe’s largest national park, famous for its huge elephant population.
Spend a full day exploring the vast wilderness of Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe’s largest national park and one of Africa’s premier wildlife destinations. The park is renowned for its huge elephant population, diverse habitats, and excellent predator sightings. Your day begins with an early morning game drive departing from Hwange Safari Lodge. Early morning is one of the best times for wildlife viewing, as predators are still active and animals gather around waterholes. Possible wildlife sightings include: Around midday, enjoy lunch at the lodge, or overlooking a busy waterhole where wildlife can often be seen coming to drink. In the afternoon, head out again for another game drive through different sections of the park. Return to the lodge in the early evening with time to relax and enjoy the peaceful bush surroundings. After breakfast depart Hwange National Park and travel south through rural landscapes toward Bulawayo, Zimbabwe’s second-largest city known for its wide tree-lined avenues and colonial heritage. Upon arrival, enjoy a relaxed afternoon exploring the city. Visit the impressive Natural History Museum of Zimbabwe, home to one of Africa’s finest wildlife and geology collections, or take a short city tour including historic landmarks and local markets.
Today visit the spectacular Matobo National Park, a UNESCO cultural landscape famous for its dramatic granite hills and ancient rock art. The highlight of the day is a guided rhino tracking experience on foot, offering a rare chance to observe both black and white rhinos in their natural habitat. You will also visit the iconic viewpoint of Cecil Rhodes Grave, known as “World’s View,” which offers breathtaking panoramic scenery.
Travel south-east toward Masvingo to visit the remarkable Great Zimbabwe National Monument, the largest ancient stone city in sub-Saharan Africa and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built between the 11th and 15th centuries, the ruins showcase impressive dry-stone architecture including the Great Enclosure and Hill Complex. Enjoy a guided walking tour learning about the history of this powerful medieval African kingdom.
After breakfast journey north through scenic countryside toward the lush mountains of the Eastern Highlands. Arrive in Nyanga National Park, a beautiful region of rolling hills, pine forests and waterfalls. Spend the afternoon relaxing at the lodge or enjoying a short nature walk in the cool mountain air.
Today explore the natural beauty of Nyanga. Options include hiking in the mountains, visiting the spectacular Mutarazi Falls, Zimbabwe’s highest waterfall, or taking scenic drives through the park’s valleys and viewpoints. Adventurous travelers may also hike Mount Nyangani, the country’s highest peak.
Depart the Eastern Highlands and travel to Zimbabwe’s capital city, Harare. On arrival enjoy a brief city tour including visits to the National Gallery of Zimbabwe and vibrant local craft markets where artisans sell handmade sculptures and souvenirs.
After breakfast, transfer to Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport for your onward flight, marking the end of your unforgettable Grand Zimbabwe Explorer journey.
