The first stop reveals the natural grandeur of Ponta do Altar, where cliffs shaped by wind and sea offer breathtaking panoramic views over the Atlantic Ocean and the Algarve coastline.
The journey continues to Ferragudo, one of the most charming fishing villages in the region. Among narrow streets, whitewashed houses and the historic fishing harbour, you will feel the authenticity of an Algarve deeply connected to the sea and its traditions.
At the Ria de Alvor, the landscape transforms into a true natural sanctuary. This saltwater estuary, famous for oyster cultivation, is also home to numerous bird species throughout the year. With a little luck, you may even spot flamingos feeding in the lagoon.
The historical dimension of the experience comes alive with a visit to the Portimão Museum, a former fish-canning factory that preserves the memory of the fishing and canning industry — once one of the Algarve’s most important economic engines.
The tour concludes at the Algarve Gourmet tasting room, overlooking the vineyard, where the peaceful rural landscape contrasts beautifully with the energy of the sea. Here you will enjoy a private lunch inspired by the maritime flavours of the Algarve, with two menu options: Menu 1 – Regional Tapas (6 tapas + signature dessert) A selection of flavours that may include fresh or traditional preserved seafood, regional cheese, artisan bread, products from the Barrocal Algarve, and Algarve Gourmet signature specialities. Menu 2 – Traditional Algarve Meal Starter: Traditional Algarve salad with tiborna (artisan bread with olive oil and herbs) Main Course: Fish and Seafood Cataplana Dessert: Regional signature dessert The meal is paired with carefully selected Algarve wines, chosen to enhance the aromas and textures of the sea-inspired cuisine.
