Lumo wildlife sanctuary is a privately owned 110 sq km is a taita hills wildlife conservancy is an abandoned sisal plantation, which failed nearly four decades ago. Comprising savannah plains, a man-made reservoir and a riverine forest that follows the course of the Bura River, this unfenced wilderness has since found new life as a game reserve offering an abundance of zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, elephant, eland, waterbuck, reedbuck, giraffe, vervet monkey, lion, jackal and prolific birdlife. Taking this tour means that you will have the freedom to game drive within the Conservancy broadening the terrain and chances of seeing yet more african wildlife.
WE PICK UP FROM ALL THE HOTELS IN MOMBASA/DIANI AND MALINDI
Pick up from the hotel at around 6.00 am driving along Mombasa- Nairobi highway for 100 kms and a stopover for coffee. Proceed for 6 kms to Tsavo East (The largest park in Kenya which covers an area of 13,747 km2) and arrive at Bachuma. Begin the game drive en route to Tarhi Camp for lunch. You have also a chance to see animals like red elephants, rhinos, leopards, cheetah, and giraffes among others. Proceed with the game drive to Voi Wildlife Lodge where you will check in at around 1.00 pm. Have lunch and relax till 4.00 pm after which you will start another game drive till 6.30 pm then back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Wake up at 5.30 am for coffee and start an early morning game drive till 8.30 am and return for breakfast. Check out followed by a game drive en route to the gate. Depart to Lions Bluff Sanctuary – a distance of 90 kms. Arrive at the gate and begin a game drive en route to Lions bluff lodge arriving at around 1.00 pm for check in and lunch. Relax till 3.30 pm then begin a game drive till 6.30 pm. Lions Bluff Sanctuary covers an area of 60,000 Ha and is a national conservancy which is owned and managed by the community. Physical attractions include semi arid regions, grassland savannah, lion rocks, and views of Taita Hills and Pare mountains in Tanzania, Acacia forests and cammiphora bushes among others. This is home to elephants, buffalos, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, heart beasts, eland antelopes and zebras among others. (Dinner and overnight at Lions bluff lodge.)
Wake up at 5.30 am for a coffee and begin an early morning game drive till around 8.30 am before a full breakfast then check out. Make a last game drive en route to the gate then depart to Voi town for lunch. Drive back to your hotel arriving late in the evening.
