Fall and spring departures may run into the evening, while winter tours travel in the late afternoon and finish before dusk to make the most of the available light.
Ride in a warm vehicle along secondary highways and quieter paved roads. Your guide monitors recent wildlife activity, weather, and seasonal conditions to choose a promising route each day.
Watch for elk, deer, bighorn sheep, eagles, and other native species. Bears and wolves are occasionally seen, but sightings are uncommon. Bears are especially rare outside the summer berry season, which typically peaks from July through August.

Your guide will make time for photographs and may invite you outside at safe stops or offer a short walk to a viewpoint. The relaxed pace leaves room to ask questions and learn about local wildlife and its habitat.
Meet outside the main doors of the Canmore Recreation Centre. Free parking is available. Free public transit stops at the high school, a 2-minute walk away. Your guide will have a clipboard; please check in with them. Arrive 10 minutes before departure for setup.
Explore quiet secondary roads and remote wildlife viewing areas with a local guide. We monitor wildlife activity and follow recent sighting reports to choose each route. Wildlife is unpredictable, so sightings cannot be guaranteed.
