After a short transfer of two hours on a private vehicle, you reach Imlil, mountain village and real gateway to the Toubkal massif. After entrusting your bags to the porters, you will begin the ascent towards the refuge following the canals that irrigate the terraced crops. After the lunch break at Sidi Chamarouch’s small village, the mountain becomes more arid and only a few bleating of goats and sheep guarded by young shepherds accompany your walk. Night at the Toubkal refuge (Neltner refuge, 3210 m). . Walking time: 5 h 30. . A: 1 200 m. • Transfer: 1 h 30 to 2 h.

The ascent towards the summit is without major difficulty. The path goes up a valley enclosed that leads to a pass. A large ridge then leads to the summit. Here, the view is striking, dominating a large part of the Atlas and the plains of Haouz, to the north, and Ouarzazate, to the south. The descent is by the same way and, from the refuge, after the picnic, you reach Imlil following the same itinerary as yesterday. The driver will be waiting in the village to take you back to Marrakech. . Walking time: 9 h. . A: 1 050 m – D: 2 270 m . Transfer: 1 h 30 to 2 h.
