Yasaka Namba Shrine is a historic Shinto shrine in central Osaka, believed to date back to the 5th century. Dedicated to Susanoo-no-Mikoto, it is known for its dramatic lion-head stage, symbolizing protection, good fortune, and the warding off of misfortune amid the surrounding urban landscape.
Den Den Town (Nipponbashi) is Osaka’s hub for electronics, anime, and pop culture. Originally developed as an electronics district in the early 20th century, it later evolved into a center for gaming, manga, and otaku culture, often compared to Tokyo’s Akihabara.
The walk continues south toward Shinsekai, a nostalgic neighborhood inspired by early 20th-century Osaka. Here, guests enjoy kushikatsu (1 drink included), the city’s famous deep-fried specialty. After Shinsekai, the group takes a short subway ride, allowing for a comfortable transition back toward central Namba while saving time and energy. Upon arrival, the tour visits Hōzen-ji, a serene Buddhist temple tucked away in narrow lanes, known for its moss-covered statue and intimate atmosphere.
Dōtonbori Bridge and the Glico Running Man mark the symbolic heart of Osaka’s nightlife district. Spanning the historic Dōtonbori Canal, the bridge offers views of neon-lit streets and river traffic, while the iconic Glico Running Man sign, first installed in 1935, represents Osaka’s energy, optimism, and love of spectacle.
