What to expect

It starts from an altitude of 1,900 meters in the “Rifugio Sapienza” area - Nicolosi Nord. Accompanied by our Alpine and Volcanological Guides, the only professional figures qualified and authorized to accompany active volcanoes, we will reach an altitude of 2500 meters via a cable car service. Subsequently, with the help of special off-road minibuses, we will reach up to an altitude of 2,800 metres. From here the actual trekking will begin, which among very recent lavas (the last of which fell in January 2024), lunar landscapes and suggestive panoramas, will take us to reach the top of Etna, at an altitude of approximately 3,340 m, where we will It is possible to admire the spectacle offered by its 4 active craters with the incessant fumaroles, the continuous explosions and the surprising puffs of ash and steam.

The descent will be carried out on a mainly sandy surface which will easily and in a fun way take us back to the valley passing through the craters of the most recent eruptions (2002/2003) and other points of volcanic interest up to an altitude of 2,500 metres, from where, through the cable car, you will return to the starting point.
