Joan of Arc was burned at the stake in Rouen in 1431. Claude Monet first walked into his garden in Giverny in 1883 and never really left, painting it obsessively for 43 years. One river connects these two places. This tour connects their stories.
In Rouen, your guide walks you through the cobblestone old town: the Gothic cathedral Monet painted 30 times, the square where Joan of Arc died, the Renaissance clock and the medieval streets.
In Giverny, you step inside the painting. The lily pond, the Japanese bridge, the weeping willows. Your guide holds up reproductions of Monet's canvases alongside the real views, one of the most powerful moments any tour of France can offer.
