A Side by Side experience is the perfect, hands-on way to escape the tourist trap, live like a local, and make an impact. A percentage of every booking goes directly back to the changemakers we've partnered with in the form of year-end gifts: equipment, bursaries, and cash grants.
To ensure all experiences run smoothly and guests' every last need is met, an SbS guide will be by your side throughout the entire experience from pick-up to drop-off (if you opt for the Hotel Pickup add-on). Your guide will provide you all the background info you need to know and settle the entrance fees on your behalf.
Optionally add the Photoshoot add-on for HD pics/vids of you in action sent by the Google Drive same day.

What's Included
Meeting and pickup
Even if you don't opt for our Hotel Pickup add-on, we're still happy to send your guide to come meet you at your hotel and escort you to the activity location! That's provided you have one additional in your rental car or Uber.
Upon booking we'll send you detailed instructions with supporting Google Maps street view images to ensure you don't get lost.
What to expect
Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by the community partners and your guide will facilitate a little bit of conversation before jumping into the Upcycled Crafts Workshop.
The concept of upcycling will be explained to you, with many end-products to show as examples. Depending how long you can stay (you'll provide us that info upon booking), you'll be able to make different products and handicrafts:
1 hr (2 hrs total incl. travel to & from) — Small handicrafts, e.g. shapes, signs, ornaments, rings & earrings.
2 hrs (3 hrs total " ") — Large handicrafts, e.g. flowers, placemats
3 hrs (4 hrs total " ") — Advanced crafts, e.g. necklaces, bracelets, pieces involving beadwork and sewing.
You'll be guided every step of the way. If you're ever feeling at a loss, a community partner will step in to assist you.
