Meet your naturalist guide at the entrance of Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time. Your guide will assist you with the canoe boarding location and provide a brief introduction before the tour begins.
Kumarakom Backwaters Birdwatching Canoe Experience Meet your naturalist and board a traditional canoe to explore the tranquil backwaters and wetlands of Kumarakom. Glide silently through narrow canals and bird-rich habitats that are inaccessible to larger motorized boats. Accompanied by an experienced naturalist, observe resident and migratory bird species while learning about the unique ecosystem of the Vembanad wetlands. The slow pace of the canoe allows excellent opportunities for birdwatching, nature photography, and experiencing the peaceful beauty of Kerala's backwaters. Depending on the season, sightings may include kingfishers, herons, egrets, cormorants, darters, and numerous migratory birds. After the canoe experience, return to the starting point and conclude the tour.
