During the cooler, quieter hours of early morning, you'll travel through three different environmental regions near Sedona to see resident animals in their natural habitats, such as black bears, elk, foxes, turkeys and more. An experienced guide will be on hand to explain the behaviors of the animals and the background of the varying ecologies. Your Sedona safari tour starts when you meet your informative guide and load into your sturdy Jeep at either sunrise or sunset, depending on option selected. During these times of day, when the air is cooler and crowds are fewer, animals are typically more active, so you have a better chance of seeing them in their element. As you leave Sedona and venture into the Arizona outback, watch the terrain change from cement to desert, and start looking for glimpses of the area’s array of wildlife. Listen as your guide explains the importance of the three biological zones and how they contribute to the spectacular diversity of local animal species. You'll learn about the native ecology systems, the personalities of the different animals and the conservation efforts that help protect them. You might come across such creatures as elk, deer, turkeys, coyotes, black bears and more. Bump along across the rugged terrain in the 4-wheel-drive Jeep to the next two zones, where you’ll learn about the differences between each.
