On the way back from the Northeast, the stop at the Gorreana tea factory allows you to stroll through the stunning plantation, photograph, taste and learn everything about tea production in the Azores. You can also buy your tea or souvenir at the handicraft shop.
Ex-libris in the Northeast region! An old area of water mills converted into an enchanting natural park where you can find the beautiful waterfall "Véu da Noiva". Here you will have access to changing rooms, a café or a handicraft shop where you can buy your souvenir.
The unique gastronomy of the region is always part of the best tours and this is the time to taste Cozido das Furnas! Cooked for 6 to 7 hours in holes in the volcanic soil, the Furnas stew is one of the most unique dishes in the Azores.
Vila das Furnas is located in a valley known by locals as Vale Encantado das Furnas. Discover several boiling water boilers and several fumaroles in this area. You will have the opportunity to taste several mineral waters.
Stop at Lagoa das Furnas where you will find the chapel of Nossa Srª das Vitorias, unique in its Gothic style. Around the lagoon there is a set of wooden statues that will provide fun photographs.
Optionally visit the Volcanic Park where the famous "cozido" is made next to the Furnas lagoon and walk through boilers of boiling and muddy water. (admission not included, 3€ per person)
