In Amealco you can do different activities such as camping, mountain biking, hiking, ecotourism and ATV routes. Amealco has many deep-rooted traditions and culture that are evident in every corner. In Amealco, many inhabitants have Otomi roots, which are reflected in the festivities, gastronomy and crafts. Its name comes from the Nahuatl Ameyalco or Amellayi, the “Place of springs.” Originated in 1538 by the Spanish, the municipal presidency building was originally a house, and the house of the parish priest can still be seen.
