Join us for a semi-private food walking tour in Sydney, where you'll explore Australia's rich and diverse culinary history in an intimate group of up to 6 guests. Over 3.5 hours, you'll taste 8 handpicked dishes, each showcasing a different chapter of Australia's evolving food scene.
Start with a classic flat white and Vegemite toast, then dive into hearty Aussie staples like meat pies and fusion street food. Experience native flavours through a unique Indigenous grazing platter, featuring smoked kangaroo, emu, and more. End the tour with an optional alcoholic upgrade, including wine or prosecco and a local craft beer.
With a small group, your expert guide will share insider stories behind each dish, giving you a deeper understanding of Australian food culture. It's the perfect blend of history, flavour, and fun, all served with a local's touch.
We meet in front of Customs House, beside the steps and access ramp (on the right-hand side as you face Customs House).
We finish at "Midden by Mark Olive", which is located at the Sydney Opera House, affording views of the harbour and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
We start at Customs House where you'll see a scale model of all of Sydney and where we will walk (approx 2.5 km / 1.5 miles). You'll then head to a great local cafe for flat white coffees, Vegemite toast and a "Tim Tam slam".
We'll visit Martin Place and the Anzac Cenotaph, where you'll get to sample an iconic Australian biscuit (cookie).
Stop near the General Post Office for a gourmet Australian meat pie, while learning about the history of the building.
Wander through the Queen Victoria Building (QVB) on your way to the next stop for an Instagram-famous cake. Afterwards, you'll take the light rail from QVB back towards Circular Quay.
Wander around Circular Quay from the ferry wharves to the Opera House, taking in the amazing harbour views. Before hitting Circular Quay, you'll stop at a cafe for an Australian-Asian fusion sandwich (optional inclusion).
From where the tour finishes, you'll enjoy the best possible view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, and learn about its construction.
End your walk at the Sydney Opera House where we'll visit a restaurant specialising in native Australian foods. You'll get to sample kangaroo, emu and crocodile as well as other native Australian foods.
