A Royal home and fortress for over 900 years, Windsor Castle, the largest occupied castle in the world, remains a working palace today. Windsor Castle is also home to St George’s Chapel, the spiritual home of the Order of the Garter – the oldest order of chivalry in the world, founded by Edward III in 1348. Today, the Order consists of The Queen, The Prince of Wales and 24 Knight Companions. Visit Queen Mary's Dolls' House It was the idea of the king's cousin, Princess Marie Louise, who knew the queen loved collecting miniature items. Begun in 1921, it was designed by the princess's friend, the famous architect Sir Edwin Lutyens, with tiny contents made perfectly to scale.

The Eton Walkway is a self-guided tour that takes you down Eton High Street, through one of the many playing fields and some of the other notable sites of the town. There is a large plaque outlining the walk at the start of the high street.
Runnymede is famous for the signing of the Magna Carta in 1215 by King John and his Barons. The Magna Carta is widely accepted as the first constitutional document that formed the basis of modern democracy.
