INTERESTED IN BACKCOUNTRY?
Request to make your private group tour a little more adventurous with 3 days of paddling - roughing it out in the true, isolated wild.
Groups will meet in the Loblaws parking lot. Look for a dark blue, Lake Fever branded van and trailer. Please arrive 15 minutes early to fill out waivers.
Lunch stop at a lakeside restaurant in Huntsville -a quiet cottage town loaded with festivals this summer. If something exciting is happening we’ll be sure to take a peak before heading out. Passengers should bring money to pay for their own lunch.
Patrons acquaint themselves with the campsite, take a short hike and settle in for dinner and a campfire with S'Mores (weather permitting)
Today is a free day, with a range of activities for guests to choose from (weather permitting): Fans of trekking can enjoy a 4-5 hour journey into Algonquin's deep wilderness on the Centennial Ridges Trail. The trail is 10km long, and well known for wildlife spottings. As another option, campers may choose to rent bicycles (cruisers, mountain bikes, fat tires) (*cost excluded) and ride out on the Old Railway Bike Trail. This path follows a section of discarded railway line, now shrouded in trees. 16km long from end to end, it's rated Easy, and is suitable for young children.
Begin the day with one of Algonquin's most beautiful hikes. Booth's Rock Trail is a 2 hour 5.1 km loop trail that visits two lakes and an amazing lookout, then returning along an abandoned railway. *It is recommended that those with mobility issues do a shorter version of this hike
Campers will have the opportunity to canoe or kayak on Lake Opeongo -the largest of Algonquin's 1,500 lakes
