The Blue Cave is a partially submerged cave located at Cape Maeda in Onna Village, formed from erosion by the ocean waves. The surface of the water inside the cave shimmers blue because of the sunlight refraction; hence the name “Blue Cave”. This is the perfect place to experience the mysterious atmosphere created by a natural phenomena.

We offer a unique snorkeling experience at the Blue Cave together with transport from Naha and Chatan.
Perfect for those who don't want to rent a car or use public transport and more economic than a taxi ride.

The instructors are all locals who can speak basic English and will do their best to make sure you can enjoy the experience safely while having a fun and unforgettable experience.
This activity is suitable for both beginners and experienced snorkelers, first timers are welcomed!

Both Naha and Chatan departure are available. We will provide the pick up vehicle details the day before the activity. As this activity is only availble with pick up, the departur time of the activity is the pick up departure time. Please meet up at least 10 minute before this time.

What to expect

Discover one of the best snorkeling spots in Okinawa with an experienced local instructor, recommended for vetereans and beginners!

After picking you up at either Naha or Chatan American Village we will take you to Maeganeku Port.
There the instructor will provide the snorkeling equipment (mask, fins, life jacket and depending on the season wetsuit) and will make a detailed briefing so the snorkeling activity can take place safely.
After the briefing you will get on a boat and depart for the Blue cave,
Then once we reach the Blue cave the snorkeling activity will begin !
Snorkeling activity will take place inside and around Onna village's Blue cave, where the light reflections create a magical and unique space!

During the snorkeling activity you will swim along the surface and admire the magnificent views that the Okinawan seas have to offer.

Life jacket must be worn at all times during the snorkeling activity and the boat ride. Free diving is not allowed.

After 40 minutes of snorkeling we will get back to the port on the same boat, take a shower and then head back to Chatan American Village and Naha to drop you off.

This is a group activity, other guests might join.
