A day trip to the Ourika Valley is a wonderful way to enjoy a peaceful getaway away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Nestled in the High Atlas Mountains, surrounded by lush farmland and crossed by a peaceful river, it is an ideal natural sanctuary for relaxation, meditation and healing. We are pleased to announce that pickups from your riads and hotels start at 9:00 am and last approximately 45 minutes. If you are staying in the designated area, we will pick you up at your accommodation and take you to the meeting point in the medina. If you are staying outside this area, please do not hesitate to contact us directly at the meeting point or to discuss any additional charges related to pick-up, as Check-out will take place 45 minutes later. The meeting point is conveniently located near the vehicle entrance to Jamaa el-Fna Square. You will find one of our friendly representatives at the Ola Energy Services gas station, just across the street from the entrance to the square. We will be delighted to welcome you there!
Originating in the Berber country, the river flows peacefully along the slopes of the Atlas, winding between the summit of Tlemcen and the Timeskar Plateau. The lush vegetation of the valley, the slow-moving stream and the small Berber villages with red-earth brick houses clinging to the mountainsides make up a truly enchanting picture.
Start your adventure at 9:30 a.m. along the Atlas Road and through beautiful landscapes of green meadows and authentic Berber villages that have spanned the centuries since the 16th and 17th centuries. The panorama is breathtaking and you will be amazed by the beauty of nature.
You can visit the country’s local Point of Sale every Monday and Friday: butchers and hairdressers, vegetables, cereals and olive oil vendors, blacksmiths and wizards gather in tents and reed shelters, with a number of small restaurants scattered throughout the open air.
Ourika Berber House is a charming traditional home that elegantly testifies to authentic local architecture and craftsmanship. Take the time to enjoy this beautiful place and why not learn the art of preparing delicious Moroccan tea.
Continue through the valley of palm trees following the Ourika, the local river. Along the way, discover many fruit trees, tiny villages, the river bordered by a few restaurants and the resorts of a lucky few.
After visiting the Berber house and villages, then head to Setti Fatma for a refreshing moment in the shade of the seven waterfalls located on this amazing place. Feel the water whipping your face and enjoy this moment away from the scorching African heat.
