Private Border Transfer by comfortable air-conditioned vehicle from Siem Reap to Laos border nearby Steung Treng (also called Don Kralor but not on maps).

A range of good quality vehicles is available. Vehicles are driven by a qualified and experienced driver. Guests are picked up at their hotel in Siem Reap.

A flexible start time is offered although an early start is recommended. Contact the operator if you want to start earlier.

If the vehicle departs Siem Reap early, then the vehicle can optionally stop at Beng Mealea Temple, Koh Ker Temple and Prasat Preah Vihear on the way.

The vehicle can also stop to allow guests to take lunch (at guest expense). Obviously, the activity duration will be longer if stops are made.

Guests can be dropped off within a short walking distance to the Stung Treng border post.

Details

Beng Mealea, meaning "lotus pond", is a temple of the Angkor Wat period located 40 km east of the main group of temples at Angkor. Koh Ker is a remote archaeological site in northern Cambodia about 120 kilometres away from Siem Reap and the ancient site of Angkor. It is a jungle filled region that is sparsely populated. Preah Vihear Temple is an ancient Hindu temple built during the period of the Khmer Empire, that is situated atop a 525-metre cliff in the Dângrêk Mountains.

There are a few small rough and ready cafes on the Cambodian side of the border. There is also reasonable money exchange operators.

There is little civilization on the Laos side of the border. We recommend that guests confirm their pick-up time from the border with a Laos transport operator before traveling.
