What You’ll Do:
• Bahia Palace Visit
Step into the lavish 19th-century palace built for a grand vizier, known for its intricate stucco, colorful zellij tiles, tranquil gardens, and stunning courtyards. You’ll explore its history and architecture, and hear stories of royal intrigue and Moroccan craftsmanship.
• Jewish Quarter (Mellah)
Wander through the old Mellah, Morocco’s historic Jewish neighborhood. Discover the unique urban layout, visit the spice and jewelry souks, and hear about the centuries-old coexistence of Jewish and Muslim communities. Depending on timing, you may glimpse the Lazama Synagogue from outside.
• Kasbah Area
Walk into the fortified royal district, home to the Saadian Tombs (view from outside unless otherwise arranged) and the historic Kasbah Mosque. This area once served as the heart of political and religious power, and today retains its authentic charm with narrow alleys and local life.
