For more than three decades, Fundación MAPFRE has been one of the central points of Madrid’s cultural agenda for its exhibitions of Plastic Arts and Photography.

Alejandro Cartagena. Ground Rules
Alejandro Cartagena (Dominican Republic, 1977) has built a work that, far from focusing on the “single instant”, is articulated through seriality and multiplicity of perspectives.

Richard Avedon. In the American West, 1979 – 1984
Richard Avedon combined his celebrated career in fashion with deep social photography projects, such as In the American West.

    For more than three decades, Fundación MAPFRE has been one of the central points of Madrid’s cultural agenda for its exhibitions of Plastic Arts and Photography. Its program includes exhibitions of painting and sculpture focusing on the main protagonists (Renoir, Van Gogh, Picasso, Degas, Chagall, etc.) and the main movements of artistic modernity (Impressionism, Avant-garde, Surrealism, etc.). Photography exhibitions also range from the great masters of the 20th century (Atget, Evans, Winogrand, Strand..) to those who represent the best expression of artistic photography today.
