The northern circuit of Tanzania is home to some of the most remarkable wildlife and natural landscapes on the African continent. We have selected the Tarangire National Park, Olduvai Gorge, the one and only Serengeti, Ngorongoro conservation area, and Lake Manyara to be in your travel plan.
Tarangire National Park is known for its large herds of elephants and baobab trees. It’s also home to other wildlife, including lions, leopards, giraffes, and zebras. The “Cradle of Mankind,” Olduvai Gorge, is an archaeological site where some of the earliest human fossils were found. The vast and diverse Serengeti National Park is famous for its annual wildebeest migration, where millions of animals travel across the savannah for food and water. The park is also home to large populations of lions, cheetahs, and other big cats, making it an ideal destination for wildlife enthusiasts. The UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, is home to the Ngorongoro Crater.

Arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport (Time to be advised), drive to Arusha, and stay at the Gran Melia Hotel for dinner and an overnight.
After breakfast, drive from the Gran Melia Hotel to Tarangire National Park, which will take about two hours. This park is spectacular in the dry season when many migratory wildlife species return to the Tarangire River’s permanent waters. Huge herds of wildebeest, zebras, elephants, elands, and Oryx gather to stay in Tarangire until the onset of the rain when they migrate again to good grazing areas. In the late afternoon, drive to Tarangire Kuro Treetops Lodge for an overnight.
Drive to the spectacular Serengeti National Park via Olduvai Gorge, which takes 3 to 4 hours. Olduvai Gorge is an archaeological site in the eastern Serengeti plains, where early human fossils were first discovered. It has an amazing landscape resulting from the same tectonic forces that created the Great Rift Valley millions of years ago. Then in the late evening, drive to and overnight at the Ole Serai Luxury Lodge – full board.
After breakfast, venture into the Serengeti’s wilderness and explore its breathtaking corners for a full day of game viewing in the park. Enjoy exploring this world heritage site with a picnic lunch beside you, where the earth’s largest concentration of plain game still roams free! In the late evening, go to the Ole Serai Luxury Camp for rest, have dinner, and overnight.
After breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive inside the crater. This is the best place in Tanzania to see black rhinos and prides of lions that, include the magnificent black-manned males. There are lots of colorful flamingoes and a variety of water birds. Other game you can see include leopard, cheetah, hyena, other members of the antelope family, and small mammals. In the late afternoon, drive to Ngorongoro Serena Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Drive to Lake Manyara National Park. After having a picnic lunch in Manyara, you start a late afternoon game drive, the best time to view animals in this park. When you approach the park from the east, the Rift Valley escarpment looms on the horizon, forming an impressive backdrop to the lake. In the tall trees of the ground water forest, monkeys leap from branch to branch, and elephants stand in the shade on the escarpment. Other animals frequently seen are zebras, impalas, monkeys, giraffes, buffalos, and hippos. Later in the day, drive back to Gran Melia Hotel in Arusha for an overnight.
Enjoy a morning of leisure before your transfer to Kilimanjaro airport for your flight home.
