Get comfortable while you head over to the Whale Shark area; it will be a short boat ride where you will be given a quick briefing and the rules to protect these magnificent fish. Put your wetsuit and snorkeling gear on, and be ready to be amazed. Now it is time to jump in the water and have a close encounter with these docile creatures in their natural habitat.

Our meeting point is located at Marina Cortez. The marina is located at the intersection of Marquez del Leon and Topete Street, right where the Malecon (boardwalk) of La Paz begins. Easy to follow directions will be emailed to you once your reservation is confirmed.

What to expect

There are few experiences in the world that match swimming alongside the largest fish in the ocean specially when that fish is a shark! But don't worry, the whale sharks are known as the "gentle giants of the sea!” Get the chance of a lifetime for a whale shark snorkel on our spectacular Whale Shark snorkel tour.

Every year, nearly 100 juvenile whale sharks migrate to the Bay of La Paz during winter months to seek food and shelter. Join us on our fun and educational tour from October to April! You can choose to observe the whale sharks from the boat, or you can jump into the water in groups of a maximum of four people at a time to swim alongside these gentle giants. This tour has limited space with our small group format.

Our tour guides will brief you on everything you need to know about whale sharks in La Paz. After that, we will take a short boat ride to the refuge areas where these magnificent animals are found and you will get a chance to go snorkeling with whale sharks and other awesome marine animals!
