This 6-Day Berber Culture Trip from Marrakech to the Merzouga Desert will allow you to experience some of the culture of the Berber Nomads. Experience wonderful sceneries, historical Kasbahs, visit the Dades Gorge and Toudra Gorge and a camel trek and overnight stay in the Sahara Desert.

    Marrakech –> Ait Ben Haddou –> Ouarzazat

    Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou

    Pick-up at Hotel or Riad in Marrakech and start travelling to Ouarzazate via the Tizi N’Tichka Pass and over the High Atlas Mountains. In Ouarzazat, visit the Kasbah Taourirt, one of the most beautiful Kasbahs in the area. Enjoy the amazing landscapes and fascinating views of the Berber villages. Overnight accommodation at your Hotel or Riad in Ouarzazate Half-Board (HB).

    Ouarzazat –> Dades Valley –> Todgha Gorge

    Have breakfast at your Riad or Hotel. Drive through the Dades Valley towards Kalaat M’Gouna and Ouarzazate, the door of the desert. Enjoy numerous opportunities to take amazing photographs during the drive. Stop in Kalaat M’Gouna, “the City of Roses”, to purchase rosewater. Travel to towards the Todgha Gorge, and continue journey through the road of “the Thousand Kasbahs”, with numerous photo opportunities of nature and people. At the Gorge, walk under the 300m high red cliff, popular with many rock-climbers. Overnight accommodation at your hotel or Riad Half-board (HB).

    Todgha Gorge –> Merzouga

    Todra Gorge

    Have breakfast at your Hotel or Riad. Drive to Merzouga via the Todgha Gorge, Morocco’s premier climbing destination with the highest and narrowest Gorges, and the small towns of Erfoud and Rissani. In Todgha Valley, enjoy panoramic views of the old mud Berber villages. At Todgha Gorge, walk under the 300m high red cliff, popular with many rock-climbers. Enjoy an hour’s hiking within the Valley. Continue to Erfoud and Rissani where you will have lunch. Drive to the village of Merzouga and check in to your Hotel or Riad. Overnight accommodation at your Hotel or Riad.

    Merzouga –> Camel Trek to Desert Camp

    Merzouga Desert

    Have breakfast at your Hotel or Riad. Visit the Gnawa (Gnaoua) people, originally slaves brought from West Africa and experience their music and lifestyles. See the lake of Merzouga with its bird populations and visit the souk in Rissani. Guided camel ride to explore the sand sea of Merzouga. Overnight at desert camp where you will have your dinner.

    Merzouga –> Draa Valley –> Agdz

    Enjoy an early morning spectacular view of the sunrise in the Sahara Desert. Camel trek back to the village of Merzouga, enjoying the spectacular view of Erg Chebbi sand dunes. Continue through Dades Valley and enjoy seeing majestic sand castles and the amazing rock formations known as “monkey toes”. Arrive at the Berber Village of Agdz. Agdz crafts traditions include carving, pottery and basket-weaving. See tajine-shaped mountain Jebel Kissane on the horizon, and spot mountain bikers heading off from Agdz to Tizi n’Tinififft. Overnight accommodation at your Hotel or Riad in the Palm Grove of Agdz.

    Agdz –> Ouarzazate –> Marrakech
