Day 01: flight from Addis Abeba to Semera Explore the beginning of the Danakil depression and go down to the hottest place on the planet. It is one of the most inhospitable regions of the world, but is nonetheless spectacular, full of eye-catching colors, en route you may see many long caravans going to the salt mines and others coming out of the Danakil with their salt loaded camels. Once you arrive in the campsite unload the car and drive to spend sometimes on the Salt Lake and watch the awe-inspiring sunset.
Day 2 Drive from Dallol Erta Ale On this day shortly after breakfast, drive deep into the focal point of the depression: be prepared to feel the heat and breath the different minerals like Potassium, salt and many more: continue driving to see the Salt Mountains and traditional Salt mining and witness how people do one of the hardest jobs on earth. Continue driving, to the base campsite of Erta Ale, passing through changing landscape of solidified lava, and rock. Sortly after arriving in the base camp take early dinner and start trekking from Dodom to Erta Ale. Arrive at the top of erta Ale watching the dramatic action of the boiling lava. Erta Ale contains the world’s only permanent lava lake and you will spend an unforgettable night on the top of the mountain.
Day 03: Drive from Erta Ale to Semera On this day after exploring a continually active volcano. Walk down from Erta Ale to the base camp for breakfast. Drive to Lake Afedera for refreshing on the nice Salt Lake where you can swim and relax after all the treks in the Danakil depression. After lunch drive to Semera for overnight at Hotel.
Day 04: Drive from Semera to Lalibela On this day, drive to Lalibela. This is route is less-traveled but amazingly refreshing and shows the typical countryside settlement and landscapes. Overnight at Hotel in Lalibela
Day 05: visit the rock churches of Lalibela Lalibela is also called: Jerusalem of Africa” as the amazingly excavated underground churches where no where to be find in word such an extraordinary rock cut churches. And on this day exploring every one of them, visiting the Northwestern Cluster of churches - Bet Medhane Alem, Bet Maryam, Bet Meskel, Bet Danaghel, Bet Mikael & Bet Golgotha. After lunch, continue southeastern cluster including Bete Gabriel & Rufael, Bete Merkorios, Bete Emanuel, Bete Libanos and at the last visit the elegant church of Saint George—the big cross-shaped one. At the end of the day, participate in a cultural music and traditional drink called Tej- pure honey wine.
Day 06: Drive from Lalibela to Gondar Drive to Gondar visit the Royal Enclosure, a UNESCO World Heritage site built in the early 17th century. On this day you will another breathtaking drive. You will Visit the church of Debre Birhan Selassie, famous for its religious art and especially its iconic ceiling depicting angels. Overnight Hotel
Day 07: Drive from Gonder to the Simien Mountains National Park. Drive to the largest national park in Ethiopia. Once you arrive in the headquarter of the park and meet with our crew. After pack up camping equipments. Drive to the starting point of Sankaber. On this day start your trekking at Jinbar, a popular landmark on the first day of a Simien trek is the Jinbar Falls, where the Jinbar river plunges more than 500m down into the Gich Abyss. a remarkable sight. After having viewing the the falls continue your trek to the Gich campsite. Once you arrive at Gich you will be rewarded with sunset at viewpoint. Overnight at campsite in Gech.
Day 08: trek from Gich to Chenke On this day start the day with breakfast and continue to the trekking to Chenke on your trekking route spot some endemic wildlife such as the rare wolf and the elusive Walia Ibex. Challenging enough for most hillwalkers, this trek can be enjoyed. From Imet Gogo, the most scenic route follows the escarpment, where you will come terrifyingly close to sheer cliffs dropping hundreds of meters before reaching Chennek.
Day 09: Drive from Simien Mountains to Gondar. On this day start the morning with sunrise and take breakfast. You will trek around to spot unique Ibex. Afterward drive to Gondar to overnight. Overnight at Hotel
Day 10: fly from Gondar to Jinka. On this day arrive Jinka airport. The driver will meet you at the Jinka airport. Continue drive to Turmi: to the homes of Hammer tribes. The Hammer tribes are well-known with their traditional night dancing of Evangadi, and jumping of the Bulls traditional-wedding ceremony. It will be visited the same day if there is one. Overnight in Turmi at Lodge
Day 11: Drive to Omo River On this day in the morning after breakfast, Drive to Omorate and cross the Omo River by local boat to visit the Dasennech tribe (also known as Galeb tribe). Return to Turmi for lunch and have lunch. Afterwards continue drive to Karo tribes are the smallest group in Omo Valley. This people are living along the east banks of the Omo River. The Karo people differentiate themselves from many of the neighboring tribes by excelling specifically in body and face painting. Drive to Jinka for overnight, overnight at Hotel.
Day 12 After breakfast drive to Mago National Park to visit the Mursi tribe, who are known for their lower lip- plates. Afterwards, return to Jinka and the afternoon flight to Addis Abeba. In the Afternoon you will arrive in Addis Ababa airport and drive to Merkato, Africa’s largest market of its kind, and do shopping. Finally, you will take Ethiopian coffee at TOMOCA coffee shop. After the coffee place/farewell party, with cultural foods and drinks meanwhile you will see traditional live music.
