Begin your tour in Hurghada and head toward Cairo.
Abdeen Palace marks the beginning of modern Cairo and reflects Khedive Ismail’s ambitious vision to transform the city into a European-inspired capital. Under his rule, Cairo was reshaped with wide boulevards, grand squares, elegant palaces, Nile-spanning bridges, and lush gardens filled with rare trees and palms. Commissioned by Khedive Ismail after his ascension in 1863, the construction of the palace took ten years. It was built on land once owned by Sultan Abidin Bey, a military commander under Mohamed Ali. Khedive Ismail acquired the property from Abidin Bey’s widow and transformed it into the majestic Abdeen Saray, expanding it to include the surrounding grounds and making it one of the most opulent palaces in Egypt.
The Giza Pyramid Complex, also known as the Giza Necropolis, is located on Egypt’s Giza Plateau and stands as one of the most iconic archaeological sites in the world. It includes the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure, their accompanying temple complexes, and the legendary Great Sphinx. These awe-inspiring monuments were built during the Fourth Dynasty of Egypt’s Old Kingdom. The site also features ancient cemeteries and the remains of a workers’ village, offering insight into the lives of the laborers who helped construct these timeless wonders.
The Great Sphinx of Giza, commonly known as the Sphinx, is a colossal limestone statue representing a reclining sphinx—a mythical creature with the body of a lion and the head of a human. Facing east, it stands proudly on the Giza Plateau, along the west bank of the Nile River in Giza, Egypt
Papyrus, an early forerunner of the modern book, is believed to have originated in Egypt as early as the First Dynasty. It was crafted from the papyrus plant, which once thrived along the fertile banks of the Nile River.
