With convenient transportation, you can relax and take in the seasonal beauty without the stress of planning or driving.
After meeting your tour conductor, you’ll board the bus and head towards your first destination, where you'll experience the breathtaking beauty of Hokkaido's iconic cherry blossoms. This tour will take you through 3 stunning cherry blossom spots, each offering a unique glimpse into Japan's famous sakura culture. Your first stop is a historical landmark where you can admire cherry blossoms. This site, steeped in history, is home to an ancient sakura grove that blooms beautifully from late April to mid-May. It’s the perfect spot for a moment of reflection amidst the blossoms, where you can feel the deep connection between nature and history.
Matsumae Park, with its 1,000-year-old Matsumae Castle, is a highlight of this cherry blossom journey. Home to over 250 varieties of cherry trees, the park is a cherry blossom lover's dream, boasting around 10,000 trees. From early bloomers to late-blooming varieties, you’ll see an array of colors and shapes across the vast grounds. Wander freely through the park, discover the famous "Kechimyaku Zakura" (bloodline cherry – a notable 300-year-old cherry tree) and the "Meoto Zakura" (married couple cherry), and enjoy lunch at your own expense nearby. Matsumae Park beautifully blends nature's beauty with rich history. *Please note: Matsumae Castle entrance fee is 360 yen.
Your final destination is Goryokaku Park, home to one of the most famous and beloved cherry blossom spots in Hakodate. The park’s star-shaped fortress layout is surrounded by over 1,600 cherry trees, creating a breathtaking sight when the blossoms are in full bloom. Typically from late April to early May, this is the best time to witness the sakura in full splendor, with the park offering a beautiful contrast of green and pink. For a panoramic view, consider visiting the Goryokaku Tower (optional, 1,200 yen). *Please note: the cherry blossoms' blooming period can vary depending on weather conditions. The tour will conclude with the expected arrival in Hakodate around 4:30 PM.
