After meeting your tour conductor, you will board a comfortable coach and begin your journey into the Japanese Alps. Along the way, we’ll make a short stop at a highway service area. Please note that lunch is not included and since the stop at a highway service area is only for a short restroom break, we strongly recommend purchasing your lunch in advance. Your destination is Kamikochi, a breathtaking mountain valley often called Japan’s most beautiful alpine resort. Here, the crystal-clear Azusa River flows beneath the iconic Kappa Bridge, framed by towering peaks of the Hotaka range. Stroll along gentle riverside paths, breathe in the crisp mountain air, and admire the seasonal scenery—fresh greenery in spring, wildflowers in summer, and misty forests on rainy days. Whether you choose to relax by the water or explore the trails, Kamikochi offers a serene escape into nature that feels worlds away from the city.

After your Kamikochi adventure, you’ll travel to Toyama, where you’ll check in at APA Hotel Toyama-Ekimae or a similar class hotel (APA Hotel Toyama-Ekimae Minami). Your room will be a Western-style single, double, or twin with a private bath and toilet for your comfort. This business hotel also features a large public bath and an open-air bath, perfect for relaxing after a day in the mountains. The hotel’s central location means you’ll have plenty of options for dining and shopping nearby, allowing you to enjoy the city at your leisure before the next day’s adventure. Please note that, due to room availability, even if you’ve booked a twin room, you may be assigned separate single rooms. While there is no dinner included, you have the flexibility to choose from a variety of nearby dining options.

For departures from April 15 to June 25, 2025: Embark on an unforgettable journey along Japan’s spectacular Alpine Route to Murodo, the highest point at 2,450 meters. If you visit between April 15 and June 25, you’ll be able to experience the stunning Snow Wall (Yuki no Otani)—a breathtaking corridor flanked by towering snow walls that can reach up to 20 meters high. Stroll beside these gleaming white giants and feel the crisp mountain air as you take in panoramic views of snow-capped peaks. This extraordinary sight is available only for a short time each year, making it a truly unique experience. Please note: Snow depth varies with weather, and in rare cases, the Snow Wall Walk may be canceled for safety reasons. No refunds apply for cancellations due to weather conditions. Dress warmly and wear sturdy shoes, as conditions can be cold and slippery at this altitude. The tour is expected to conclude around 19:30–20:00.

For departures from July onwards: Explore Mikurigaike, a serene pond surrounded by high-altitude plants and flowers. Take in the beauty of the alpine flora as you explore the area at your own pace. With vibrant wildflowers and crystal-clear waters reflecting the surrounding mountains, the area offers a perfect spot for relaxation and photography. The tour is expected to conclude around 19:40–20:00 at Tennnoji and for other departure places it will end around 19:10–19:30.

- According to traffic conditions etc, the order of the itinerary may be changed and the bus arrival may be delayed. in that case, the tour conductor will inform you on the day of the tour.
- If the tour operator has to cancel the tour because of a typhoon, heavy snow or other circumstances beyond their control, this will be decided by 3pm the day before tour departure; you will be informed by e-mail and suggest a new departure date or receive full refund
- This tour is operated for both Japanese and foreign customers. A Japanese tour conductor will accompany the group and provide key information using a translation app. Please note that the tour conductor is not a tour guide and will focus on sharing essential information during the tour.
- Please note that we are unable to accommodate special dietary requests, including food allergies. If you have specific dietary needs, we recommend making your own meal arrangements. No refunds will be provided for meals.
- Due to road conditions or other factors, there may be delays in the return time.
- Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for walking.
- Snow Wall Walk is available between around 15 April and 25 June. It may be cancelled in case of dangerous situations such as snowstorm, snow removal work, etc. and no refunds will be provided.
- Please refrain from using the reclining function on the bus seats.
- The accommodation will be at APA Hotel Toyama Ekimae or a similar class hotel (APA Hotel Toyama-Ekimae Minami). Mainly this hotel has single rooms. Depending on the availability of the rooms in the hotel, a twin room or all single rooms might be provided for even for youth age group. You can leave your room preference (single or twin) in the Special Requirements, but please note the arrangement can be guaranteed. Other room requests cannot be accepted
- In case of delays due to accidents, traffic jams, etc., there may be a situation where we cannot reach the Shirakawago parking lot on time. In such cases, we will prioritize visiting Shirakawago and skip Hida Takayama.
- Delays or non-participation due to public transportation delays will be subject to cancellation fees. The tour will depart at the scheduled time listed
- The Snow Wall area is expected to be crowded, and snow conditions may vary depending on the season. Please note that there will be no refunds if the Snow Wall Walk is canceled due to weather conditions.
- During the Snow Wall event period, temperatures can be extremely cold—similar to midwinter—so appropriate winter clothing is essential. Since walking may make you warm, we recommend wearing layers with front buttons or zippers for easy adjustment. Additionally, as the weather can change quickly, please bring rain gear.
- The road surface can be slippery, so please wear comfortable, waterproof footwear such as sneakers or light hiking shoes.
- If the Tateyama Toll Road is closed due to weather or other conditions, the itinerary will be changed to a sightseeing tour in Kanazawa City (including Kanazawa Castle Town, Omicho Market, etc.). In such cases, no refunds will be provided.
- Lunch is not included. Since our stop at a highway service area is only for a short restroom break, we strongly recommend purchasing your lunch in advance.
