After meeting your tour conductor, you will travel to Miyajidake Shrine, arriving after approximately 50 minutes. Here, you will experience the seasonal Wind Chime Festival, a beloved summer tradition in Japan. Hundreds of glass wind chimes are displayed throughout the shrine grounds, gently ringing as the wind blows. The soft, cooling sounds create a refreshing atmosphere, offering a unique way to experience Japanese summer culture. Walking through the paths lined with colorful chimes, the setting feels both lively and calming, making it a memorable seasonal highlight.
Travel approximately 50 minutes to The Luigans Spa and Resort, located near the coast. Here, you will enjoy a mini lunch buffet featuring a selection of light dishes such as salads, tacos, bread, and curry. The relaxed resort setting offers a comfortable break during the day. After approximately 20 minutes, arrive at Shingu Port, where you will prepare to board a ferry to the island. From here, your journey shifts from land to sea as you head toward one of Fukuoka’s most unique destinations. From the port, board a regular ferry for approximately 20 minutes to reach Ainoshima, widely known as a “cat island.” Seating on the ferry is non-reserved.
Upon arrival, you will have free time to explore the area near the port, where many cats live and roam freely. The sight of cats relaxing by the seaside, combined with ocean views, creates a peaceful and photogenic setting that has made the island popular among visitors and animal lovers alike. Please note that those prone to motion sickness are advised to prepare medication in advance. Ferry operations may be canceled due to severe weather such as typhoons, strong winds, or heavy rain, and in some cases, landing on the island may not be possible.
