What to expect

Meet up with a private driver in Lisbon and set off for a glorious full-day tour of the Portuguese countryside. In a very confortable vehicle and professional driver, travel 81 miles (130 km) to south of Lisbon, through a rustic landscape of olive and cork trees, to reach this region of vineyards and well-preserved history.

Start in Évora, the capital of the province of Alentejo and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walk through the whitewashed Old Town to visit Évora's most famous landmark, the Roman Temple. Its large Corinthian columns date back to the first century, the era of Emperor Augustus. Then head to the Cathedral of Évora, one of the most important Gothic monuments in Portugal, and the Saint Francis Church and “Bones Chapel” (Capela dos Ossos), completely covered with human bones.

After a full morning of touring, head to one of the most important  wine cellars in Portugal. Enjoy a tasting of delicious local wine and take in the beautiful surrounding vineyards before eventually heading back to Lisbon.
