Step into the spiritual heart of Japan with a rare, immersive experience at Nakayama-dera—one of the most sacred temples on the 1,000-year-old Saigoku Kannon Pilgrimage.
Unlike ordinary temple visits, this 1.5-hour tour is led by a Sendatsu, a certified pilgrimage guide who will walk you through traditional rituals practiced by pilgrims for centuries. Together, you’ll offer incense, chant sutras, and engage in authentic Buddhist practices that few international travelers ever get to experience.
Set in the peaceful foothills near Osaka, this tour offers a deep connection to Japanese spirituality, culture, and history—far beyond sightseeing. Perfect for those seeking something meaningful, memorable, and truly unique.

Located between Osaka and Kobe, Nakayama-dera is a historic Buddhist temple with over 1,300 years of history. Founded by Prince Shōtoku, it was built to calm the spirits of those lost in political conflicts. The temple is renowned for its blessings related to safe childbirth and fertility. It is also the starting point of the Saigoku Kannon Pilgrimage, a spiritual journey visiting 33 temples dedicated to Kannon, the bodhisattva of compassion. This pilgrimage, practiced for over a thousand years, is believed to lead to rebirth in the Pure Land. Nakayama-dera remains a significant site for pilgrims and visitors, offering a chance to experience Japan’s deep Buddhist traditions.
