We'll tour the NON-TOURISTY sector of La Boca and be able to get closer to the real identity of the area with the help of someone native of the neighborhood. We'll learn about its people, its art, architecture, history, and customs.
We'll explore its natural harbor, where large groups of immigrants arrived, its warehouses, and its restored train station. We'll visit a tin-roofed tenement that served as a shelter for immigrants and is currently a Cultural Center. We'll see Boca art represented in large murals that reflect various social issues. We'll also see old buildings that housed anarchist newspapers and brothels from the early 20th century. The soccer stadium (Boca Stadium) and the church (Salesiana) are a must-see, a refuge for these uprooted groups. We'll visit Caminito, where we'll find tango and fileteado in every corner.
