Pick up at a few hotels in the Old Quarter area around Hoan Kiem Lake and then depart to Pu Luong Nature Reserve. Estimate a 4-hour drive without heavy traffic and a stop halfway.
Before noon, arrive at Don village, the epicenter of Pu Luong and have lunch there. After that, check in your reserved room if available (standard check-in time 14:00). Free to relax and wander around.
13:30. Transfer to Meeting Point and start a 10km trek. Conquer Kho Muong, an isolated village and the largest cave in Pu Luong by off-road trails via streams, mountain. Then, head to scenic Bang village with gorgeous paddy fields. Difficulty level 4/5.

Depart from the village and head to scenic Bang village to discover remote houses with beautiful terrace fields.
Around 16:30, transfer back hotel for relaxation and have dinner. After dinner, free time at your own. Overnight at your reserved room. End the first day.
Wake up in refreshing mountain air in Don village. Breakfast is served from 7:00. Recharge fully and get ready for the tour by 8:30.
Transfer to Meeting point and start a 4.5km trek through suspension bridge, scenic villages along the largest stream. Admire water wheels by the way.
Arrive at Chieu Lau dam and embark on a bamboo rafting experience. Paddle the raft upstream with locals and enjoy the moment. In Pu Luong, activities like eating or singing on bamboo rafts may sound fun at first, but they come with real risks, especially when the water level rises or flows fast after heavy mountain rain. That is why at Puluong Excursions, we keep it simple and safe: Life jackets are required at all times.
Land on the other side of the river and start an another 2km walk through rice fields and villages to complete a loop trail. During the morning leisure stroll, you have the chance to learn about native herbs and plants such as sweet leaf vegetables, jackfruit, pickled eggplant, betel leaves, and areca nuts. You will also discover more about bamboo, both a symbol of Vietnamese spirit and an essential part of daily life in Pù Luông and a rare mountain fish once reserved only for kings and wealthy lords.
13:30. Get on bus and go back Hanoi city with a break along the way. Expected time to Hanoi by 18:30 with normal traffic. Drop off at Hanoi Opera House and hotels in the old quarter. Finish the tour at hotel.
