Itinerary

Duration: 4 days (approximately)

    Tarangire National Park

In the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel in Moshi/Arusha and driven to the first stop on your itinerary – Tarangire National Park. Known for its very large elephant population, you are likely to witness many herds during this game drive. As you drive around the seasonal swamps and savannahs surrounding the park’s famous Tarangire River (to which it owes its name) you will also come across many zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, hartebeests, giraffes and waterbucks. With a bit of luck, you may also encounter a rare (but not impossible!) sighting of lions stalking their prey or leopards lazily lying in the trees above. After your full afternoon game drive in Tarangire National Park, you will be driven to a nearby campsite, or lodge/permanent tented camp, where you will stay for the evening (depending on the accommodation plan you choose).

After the breakfast, you will pass through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you will be able to see the breath-taking Ngorongoro Crater before travelling onwards to the Serengeti National Park. At around midday you will arrive at the Serengeti. The Serengeti is the largest park in Tanzania with a diversity of landscapes and habitats, such as grassy plains, swamps, lakes, savannah and mountains. Here the biggest wildebeest and zebra migration takes place and depending on the season you may have the opportunity to witness thousands of animals on their search for fresher grasslands. After your game drive, you will be driven to a nearby campsite, or lodge/permanent tented camp, where you will stay for the evening.

    Ngorongoro Crater

Early risers will be rewarded with breath-taking views of the sunrise over the Ngorongoro Crater. On your game drive inside the world’s largest volcanic caldera, you will find a haven of African wildlife, including the “Big Five” – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard. The various springs found on the crater floor attract animals such as wildebeest and gazelles, and more than 500 bird species. After lunch by the hippo pool, you will enjoy some more wildlife game viewing on your way out of the crater before driving back to Moshi/Arusha, where your safari ends.
