9am - After pickup from from hotel or other point in the city, proceed on a half-day tour of the Delhi city. In New Delhi, visit the 11th century Qutab Minar Tower, built by Qutub-ud-din Aibek of the Slave Dynasty, who took possession of Delhi in 1206.
The India Gate, a memorial raised in honor of the Indian soldiers martyred during the Afghan war and drive past the grand government buildings the President’s House and Parliament House all dating back to the time of British Raj.
Early evening, the drive to Jaipur will take approximately 4 hours. At 2pm, you will drive to the Pink City, Jaipur and check in to your new accommodations.
Meet your guide at your Jaipur hotel to be picked up in Jaipur at approximately 8am. Begin the tour by visiting the Amber Fort, The Amber Fort is situated on a ridge just outside Jaipur City and is beautifully reflected in the lake below. Inside the fort, you will encounter the world-renowned Jai Mandir temple with its dazzling Sheesh Mahal hall of mirrors. The walls and the ceiling of the Mahal are covered with a beautiful array of mirrors, which reflect any streak of light, illuminating the entire room.
Continue the tour by making a photo stop at Jal Mahal around 11am. This Rajput style "Water Palace" sits in the center of the Man Sarobar lake. The lake is often dry during the summer, but the winter monsoons frequently turn it into a beautiful lake filled with water hyacinths.
Next, you will visit the Hawa Mahal, another Rajput landmark also known as the Palace of the Winds, for more photo opportunities. The five story Hawa Mahal was built in 1799A.D. along the main street of the old city. It is a pink sandstone masterpiece with semi-octagonal and delicately honeycombed windows.
After taking a short break to enjoy lunch at a popular local restaurant, you will visit the City Palace which is located in the heart of the old city. Once the royal residence of the King of Jaipur, the palace was built using a blend of Rajasthani and Mughal styles. It features carved arches, intricately crafted columns and two carved marble elephants that guard the entrance.
Later in the day, enjoy an afternoon of shopping in Jaipur where you will find an enticing variety of goods. Some of the most popular items include precious gemstones, silver jewelry, bangles, clothes, blue pottery, and textiles. The tour will conclude around 5pm when you are transferred back to your Jaipur hotel.
8am You will make the 4-hour drive to the home town of the Taj Mahal Agra.
En-route, stop to visit Fatehpur Sikri (own expense) which has been described as “the world’s most perfectly preserved ghost town”. Built by Akbar in the late 16th century, it was abandoned after only 14 years and the elegant buildings of this superb walled city remain intact to this day.
Evening would allow you to enjoy shopping in Agra, known for its fabulous handicrafts made of marble and soft stone inlay work. The Mughals were great patrons of arts and crafts. Empress Nur Jahan took personal interest and was an accomplished artist herself in zari embroidery work. Agra's major handicraft products besides inlay work are: leather ware, brass-ware, carpets, jewelry and embroidery work.
Pickup at 6am early morning at sunrise we leave to explore the monumental heritage of the Great Mughals, visit the magnificent Taj Mahal (Closed on Fridays), a UNESCO World Heritage Site one of the Seven Wonders of the World and surely the most extravagant expression of love ever created. 20,000 men laboured for over 17 years to build this memorial to Shah Jahan's beloved wife. In the late morning, visit the imposing UNESCO World Heritage site - Agra Fort, Built by Emperor Akbar in 1565 A.D, and this huge fort is made of red sandstone. The elegant buildings inside reflect an interesting synthesis of Hindu and Central Asian architectural styles. The maze of the courtyards, mosques and private chambers of the fort echo the story of the Mughal Empire.
In the early afternoon, savor lunch at one of the area’s best local air-conditioned restaurants. Afterwards, visit Agra then drive to Delhi.
Start early in the morning with at 6:30am pick-up from your hotel in Delhi and transfer to the New Delhi Railway Station where you'll board your Super-fast Deluxe Train to Amritsar (departure time is 7:20am).
After a lunch break (At your own expense) when you arrive, you'll travel to the India/Pakistan Border for the changing of the guard ceremony and the flag hoisting and lowering activities, which are done with great skill and precision by the border security forces of both the countries. Afterwards, you'll head to your hotel.
You'll start your sightseeing tour at 8am, where you'll head out to the Golden Temple. The Temple is the spiritual center of the Sikh faith, and was built by Guru Arjun Singh in the late 16th century.
After that you'll visit the Jallianwala Bagh Memorial, an important monument dedicated to the hundreds of martyrs of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in 1919. Finally, you'll travel to Durgiana Temple which sits in the middle of a sacred lake and its share of pilgrims from all over the world.
After a lunch break (At your own expense), you'll transfer over to the Amritsar Railway Station for your return train to Delhi and Train departs at 4:40pm, with dinner being served on board.
You'll arrive at New Delhi Railway Station around 11:05pm that evening, where you'll be picked up for your transfer to your hotel in Delhi.
At 9am, head to a local bazaar for shopping and do a little sightseeing. Transfer to the airport, in the late evening, to catch your departing flight.
