This tour with a niche theme is intended mainly for fans of Japanese architecture or guests who have seen the movie about them. It was back in 2020 when some of the top names in Japanese architecture joined a project to redesign public restrooms in Tokyo's Shibuya district. The project got additional attention when Wim Wenders featured them in his film "Perfect Days".
A total of 17 toilets opened within a span of 4 years, from 2020-2023. On this tour, we will see a few that stands out the most, and was designed by famous architects such as Tadao Ando or Kengo Kuma.
The visit will include several key locations featured in the film, such as the lush green space where Hirayama, the main character always had his lunch.
We will finish at Shibuya Station which will be a convenient location for going to other areas of Tokyo. Of course, you can choose to stay and explore the area a little more.

Meeting and pickup
Outside the No. 3 Exit of the Yoyogi Koen Station (Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line, Station C02). You will see there is a park with one of the transparent toilet that is part of this project.

2Yoyogi Hachimangu Shrine
The spot where the character in the Perfect Days movie had his lunch. The "Three mushrooms" toilet by Toyo Ito is nearby.

3Miyashita Park
The Jingu mae dori Park contains the first toilet of this project, designed by Tadao Ando. This will be followed by a walk through the Miyashita Park, another project by Shibuya city completed around the same period.

4Nabeshima Shoto Park
The last destination is a quiet suburb 1km west of Shibuya Station and has the toilets by Kengo Kuma, who also designed the Tokyo Olympic Stadium.
