Day 1
Dar Es Salaam to Mikumi National Park

Pick up at the Dar Es Salaam International airport and drive to Mikumi National Park with lunch on route – on arrival at the relax and late afternoon visit Maasai village nearby and learn about their culture back to the camp for dinner and overnight at Camp Bastian. Mikumi is Tanzania’s fourth-largest national park. It’s also the most accessible from Dar es Salaam. With almost guaranteed wildlife sightings, it makes an ideal safari destination for those without much time.

Day 2
Safaris in Mikumi National Park

Full day game drive in Mikumi National Park Whilst on safari, you can see a rich variety of bird species, as well as large numbers of giraffe, buffalo and elephants. If you are lucky you may also be able to spot lions, leopards and African wild dogs. Likely to be seen animals include zebras, hippos, hartebeest, wildebeest, impala, warthog, eland and antelope. Several observation towers enable you to overview the park in its entirety.

Day 3
Safaris in Mikumi National Park

Full day game drive in Mikumi National Park Whilst on safari, you can see a rich variety of bird species, as well as large numbers of giraffe, buffalo and elephants. Day 4
Drive to Dar Es Salaam and fast ferry to Zanzibar

After breakfast, drive back to Dar Es Salaam and connect a fast ferry to Zanzibar depart 16:00, arrive 17:30 – on arrival transfer to Jambiani and overnight at Mwezi Boutique Resort on bed & breakfast. Mwezi means "moon" in the Swahili language. A symbol of all that is rhythmic and cyclic, is the moon through its phases, to mark the biological rhythms of the living creatures and the all of nature. Its influence is even more visible in a delicate ecosystem, complex, but fortunately still unspoiled as the one in Zanzibar: the daily, even hourly, spectacular change of color of its sea is just one of the effects of the moon, and follows the movement of the tides. We named the resort after this, in order to celebrate this symbol of transformation and life, without which nothing would be the same.

Relax on the beach stay Mwezi Boutique Resort

Relax at Mwezi Boutique Resort. The beautiful coastline with its palm-fringed beaches create an image of a forgotten paradise. Here you can relax on the balmy, tropical shores of the Indian Ocean. In the morning it may be possible to see some of the local fisherman, in their traditional dhows, bringing in their catch of the day. Spend your days relaxing on the beach or snorkelling in crystal-clear water or diving trip at Mnemba Atoll. There are bicycles for hire or several optional excursions can be arranged through the hotel, such as scuba diving, boat excursions, fishing trips or a spice tour of the island. You could also opt to visit the nearby turtle sanctuary where injured turtles and other marine animals are cared for until they are well enough to be set free into the wild.

Transfer to Zanzibar airport

After breakfast, transfer to Zanzibar airport for international flight home (person may need to take a short connector flight at additional cost if they fly from Dar Es Salaam).
